Cliffs of Moher & Aillwee Caves Day Trip

Experience the rugged charm of Ireland's western coast on this day excursion to the Aillwee Caves and the Cliffs of Moher from Dublin. A highlight of our journey will be a scenic boat trip along the wild Atlantic waters.

Day Trip Details

We'll convene at the Molly Malone statue on Suffolk Street at the specified meeting time. Following our boarding of the bus and introductions to your guide and fellow travelers, we’ll set off towards the west. Our route will take us through picturesque villages, verdant landscapes, and the remnants of castle ruins amid the splendor of Ireland.

The adventure begins with a visit to the Aillwee Caves, a magnificent cave system showcasing a remarkable karst landscape that is over 330 million years old. As we venture 850 meters underground, we’ll uncover the geological and historical wonders of this ancient site, including breathtaking rock formations, tumbling waterfalls, and the historic hibernation chambers of bears. Prepare to be enchanted by this subterranean realm!

Next, we will attend a captivating 45-minute birds of prey flying display. Witness eagles, owls, vultures, and falcons gliding above the breathtaking Burren landscape. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain insights into their habits and conservation efforts!

With refreshed spirits, we will head to the village of Fanore, where you’ll have an hour to enjoy lunch at your leisure. Once you’re re-energized, the most anticipated part of the journey awaits! We’ll embark on a boat cruise along the Cliffs of Moher. This picturesque voyage provides a unique vantage point to admire these colossal cliffs, perfect for capturing stunning photographs.

Upon returning to shore, you’ll have the chance to stroll along the top of the Cliffs of Moher. Take in the iconic views and visit the visitor center to discover more about the region’s rich history, as well as its flora, fauna, and geology.

As our day concludes, we will make our way back to Dublin, arriving approximately 12.5 hours later, where we’ll bid farewell.

Cliffs of Moher Boat Ride

Please be aware that the boat ride at the Cliffs of Moher is available from April 1 to October 31. During the off-peak months, instead of the boat excursion, we’ll allocate additional time at the Aillwee Caves, and following our exploration there, we’ll enjoy a birds of prey show.
