Florence Evening Tour
Description
On this free evening tour of Florence, we will explore the enchanting city that served as the stronghold of the Renaissance and appreciate its monuments illuminated by the soft evening lights.
Tour Details
We will meet at the specified time in Piazza di Santa Trinita, prepared to witness Florence’s transformation under the evening sky. Be ready to experience the magic of the city after dusk.
Our journey begins with one of Florence's delightful intricacies: a buchetta del vino, a quaint wine window traditionally used to serve wine directly to those passing by. Following this, we will stroll along the chic Via Tornabuoni, a street adorned with luxury boutiques and historic buildings.
As we continue, we will shift our focus to the serene beauty of the Arno River. From the Santa Trinita Bridge, we’ll enjoy a breathtaking view of the Arno before making our way to the renowned Ponte Vecchio, where tales of goldsmiths and hidden secrets await us. Looming above, we will discover the enigmatic Vasari Corridor, discreetly elevated above the street.
The theme of art and history will unfold as we pass the illustrious Uffizi Gallery, leading us to the political core of Florence, Piazza della Signoria. Here, the magnificent Palazzo Vecchio, fountains, and statues form an unforgettable open-air museum.
Next, we will trace the steps of the Supreme Poet at the Dante Alighieri House and gaze skyward in Piazza del Duomo. Prepare to marvel at the breathtaking façade of the Cathedral, the towering Giotto's Bell Tower, and the historic Baptistery of San Giovanni.
Our exploration takes us towards the elegant Piazza della Repubblica, concluding with a hint of superstition at the renowned Mercato del Porcellino—make sure to rub the nose of the bronze boar to secure your return to Florence!
After 1 hour and 45 minutes savoring the sights, we will conclude our tour at the market.
