At the designated time, meet us at the Kanazawa bus terminal, where we will board public transport to commence our adventure to Takayama. Are you prepared to step back in time as we explore this historic village in the Japanese Alps?

Upon arrival, our journey will begin in the Sanmachi Suji district, renowned as Takayama's historical core. Here, you will navigate through narrow lanes lined with traditional wooden residences, artisanal boutiques, cozy cafés, and sake breweries. A walk through Sanmachi feels akin to a journey back to Japan's Edo period.

Following a break to enjoy some local cuisine, we will proceed to the Takayama Yatai Kaikan, a museum showcasing magnificent floats used during the Takayama Festival, celebrated as one of Japan's most prominent events. These floats, adorned with intricate details, are deemed authentic cultural treasures.

Subsequently, our visit will take us to the Showa Museum, where everyday artifacts illustrate life in 20th-century Japan. Finally, we will conclude our exploration with a visit to Takayama Jinya, a historical site that once served as a regional government office during the Edo period. This is the sole structure of its kind remaining in Japan, offering insights into an ancient feudal administration alongside traditional Japanese architectural style.

After a full 8 hours of discovery, we will return to our starting point to conclude the journey.
