Fushimi Inari Hidden Hiking Tour
Description
Explore the unique paths leading to one of the most celebrated landmarks in Kyoto through the leading guided hiking experience of Fushimi Inari-Taisha Shrine.
Fushimi Inari Hiking Experience
Your adventure begins at Tofukuji Station, where we will embark on a journey through the charming streets of Kyoto towards a hidden trail that leads to the renowned Fushimi Inari-Taisha Shrine, located just a short 20-minute stroll away.
Upon reaching our destination, we will embark on a 5-kilometre (3-mile) guided tour to delve into the rich history of this Shinto shrine, founded in 711. You’ll discover that it serves as a tribute to the Shinto kami of rice and sake. As we navigate through Fushimi Inari-Taisha, we will explore the beliefs and traditions that shape Japanese spirituality.
Equally captivating are the serene landscapes that envelop the shrine, offering glimpses of vibrant bamboo forests and a small Inari Shrine scattered around Fushimi Inari. By venturing into less-traveled paths, we ensure a truly immersive experience, free from the usual crowds.
Following our hike, we will stroll along the famous Torii gates, featured in the film Memoirs of a Geisha—an essential sight in Kyoto. This scenic route leads us to the summit of Fushimi Inari-Taisha, where a breathtaking panoramic view of Kyoto awaits.
Our excursion lasts approximately three hours, typically ending near the main shrine, although route variations may occur.
