Hike in Cordon del Plata to Veguitas Camp
Your adventure begins with a pickup from your accommodation in Mendoza at 8:30 am, as we venture into the magnificent landscapes of the eastern Andes. Traveling along National Route 7, we’ll pass through Cacheuta and the Potrerillos reservoir, where you'll be treated to delightful Mendoza-style pancakes paired with a refreshing infusion.
Upon reaching the breathtaking Cordón del Plata Provincial Park, we will park next to the Vallecitos ski station, marking the start of our exciting trek through these captivating Andean vistas. The initial segment of our hike, spanning two hours, will lead us to the renowned Las Veguitas campsite, situated at an elevation of 10,500 feet.
Once at the campsite, we will indulge in a gourmet picnic featuring carne criolla empanadas, local Mendoza wine, fruit, alfajores, and an assortment of sweets. Following our meal, we will set out on another trek to explore the intriguing wildlife that inhabits this region.
This subsequent two-hour hike will conclude at Vallecitos. Afterward, we'll head back to Mendoza via road, with an estimated arrival time of 3:30 pm at your hotel.

Hotel pick up
At 8:30 am, we will pick you up at the hotel in Mendoza that you specified when making the reservation. Please be ready in the reception of the accommodation at least 5 minutes in advance.
Pickup takes place in the following areas of Greater Mendoza: Mendoza, Godoy Cruz, Guaymallén, Lujan de Cuyo, and Maipú.
Restrictions
The activity involves hiking along a 4-hour route of low difficulty, reaching an altitude of 10,500 ft above sea level. Therefore, participants are not required to have a good level of physical fitness. However, pregnant women and children under 10 years old are not allowed to do this activity.
Recommended equipment
We suggest you bring the following recommended equipment: trekking backpack (35-50 liters), waterproof jacket (goretex type), thermal jacket, gloves, and cap, trekking trousers, synthetic trousers (polypropylene/capilene type), synthetic shirt (polypropylene/capilene type), trekking boots/shoes (waterproof and comfortable), 3 containers for carrying liquids (1 liter each), sun protection (U-V protection glasses, 40% sunscreen and cap), personal medication, and trekking poles (telescopic type).
