What can you discover about the Roman city entombed by Vesuvius? This Pompeii experience utilizing augmented reality glasses enables you to explore the site interactively, accompanied by the insights provided by an audioguide in English.

Description

We'll gather at Via Mare at the designated time. An English-speaking tour assistant will then provide you with your Pompeii ticket, 3D glasses, and an audioguide in English. After a brief introduction on how to use the augmented reality glasses, you'll gain entry to the ancient Roman city that was lost beneath ash during the 79 AD eruption of Vesuvius.

Upon entering the archaeological area, you can explore Pompeii at your leisure while wearing the augmented reality glasses. Following the audioguide’s commentary, these glasses will allow the reconstructed views of the ancient Roman city to materialize in 3D before you.

The glasses provide a unique experience where the Pompeii ruins will transform into vibrant 3D representations. Additionally, they will showcase holograms that vividly depict how the city appeared prior to the catastrophic volcanic event.

After a 2-hour immersive journey, you will return the augmented reality glasses and audioguide, allowing you to revisit your favorite spots in Pompeii at your own convenience.

Please arrive at the following point 20 minutes before the indicated time: Coffee Shop Vittoria, located at Via Mare, 80045 Pompei NA, Italy.

You'll recognise the person who'll give you the VR goggles as they'll be holding a sign with the AR Tour logo.

If you wear glasses, you'll still be able to use the AR glasses over your normal glasses.

Children under 8

Children under 8 years old aren't allowed to use the virtual reality glasses. However, you can still enter the site with children. In fact, entrance to the Pompeii site is free for children under 8 years old. To obtain the free tickets for children under 8, just go to the Pompeii ticket office before your visit with virtual reality glasses, where you'll need to present a valid ID to confirm the child's age.

Reduced rates

If you've booked a reduced rate (EU youth aged 18-24 or children aged 8-17) you must show your ID card or passport before entering the monument to confirm that you qualify for this discount.
