Embark on a journey across the Atlantic Ocean and explore one of the most stunning locations along the Algarve shore with this sailboat excursion to the Benagil Cave during either sunrise or sunset departing from Portimão.

Benagil Cave Sunrise or Sunset Cruise

At the chosen departure time, we'll convene at the Portimão dock to board the sailboat and begin our sunrise or sunset adventure.

As we voyage along the Atlantic Ocean, engaging tales about the Arade River and the Algarve region will be shared. Observe the striking views of notable landmarks like Santa Catarina Fortress, Ferragudo Castle, and charming fishing villages as we navigate the scenic southern Portuguese coastline.

While gliding along the Algarve's coastline, we’ll pass majestic sea caves and towering cliffs. Keep a watchful eye, as we might encounter playful dolphins swimming nearby, and if fortune favors us, we’ll attempt to observe them up close.

Our next destination will take us into the iconic Benagil caves, accessible solely by boat. We’ll be in awe of the oculus at the top, casting a beautiful beam of light that illuminates the sandy beach below.

After appreciating the stunning scenery within the cave, we will head back to the Portimão dock, concluding our journey approximately 1.5 hours later.

Swimming or disembarking the boat inside the caves is prohibited.
Encounters with dolphins and other marine life are not guaranteed.
The schedule may be adjusted based on sea and weather conditions.

On the day of the activity, we'll meet at the indicated time at one of the following meeting points:

For the sunrise boat ride, head to Acceso Porto Comercial de Portimão, 8500-512 Portimão.
For the sunset boat ride, head to Doca de São Francisco, Portimão. The boarding gate is located near the Convent of São Francisco de Portimão.

In both cases, please be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

Important

Swimming and getting off the boat inside the caves is not allowed.
Sightings of dolphins and other marine species are not guaranteed.
The itinerary may be modified depending on the sea and weather conditions.
Purposely and improperly bursting life jackets will incur an additional cost of 70EUR per life jacket, paid at the boarding point.
