Day Trip Overview

Starting with pickup from your accommodation in Porto de Galinhas, we’ll travel northward to unveil one of Brazil’s most exquisite architectural treasures: Olinda.

Our exploration will commence at the Eufrásio Barbosa Market, a structure dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries that greets visitors with a charming fusion of history and local traditions. Next, we’ll wander through the heart of the historic district, where twinkling cobblestone paths and vivid façades whisk us away to a bygone colonial time.

We’ll make a noteworthy visit to Anticuario Arte Machê Café, where we not only appreciate the architecture of a typical house but also indulge in the iconic Bolo de Souza Leão, a beloved sweet from Pernambuco, paired with a cup of artisanal coffee.

Continuing our journey, we’ll arrive at the Ribeira Market, famed for its impressive array of wood and ceramic crafts. After savoring the scenic views, we’ll reach the famed Quatro Cantos, the heart of Pernambuco’s Carnival, bordered by the striking Misericórdia Slope. Are you ready to take on the climb?

The itinerary will also guide us past the Museum of Contemporary Art, located in a historic building that previously functioned as a prison and episcopal palace, leading us to the iconic Rua do Amparo. This vibrant street, replete with artists’ studios and restaurants, embodies the bohemian spirit of the city. We will stop at the well-known Botega do Veio to bask in its genuine and inviting ambiance.

To conclude the day, we’ll ascend to Alto da Sé, where breathtaking vistas of the sea and churches await us. Afterwards, we’ll make our way back to Porto de Galinhas, completing a memorable 7-hour excursion.
