Experience the breathtaking landscape of the Ecuadorian Andes as you embark on an exhilarating ride along the paths winding through the foothills of the Chimborazo Volcano. Departing from Riobamba, this journey promises to be one of adventure and discovery.

Your journey begins at 8 am when we will collect you from your accommodation in Riobamba. From there, we will travel to the Hermanos Carrel mountain lodge, positioned at an impressive altitude of 5,900 feet (1,800 metres). Upon arrival, we will provide you with a bag containing a sandwich, fruit, and juice for a refreshing snack during the excursion.

Next, a brief trek will lead us to a second refuge where we can admire the stunning Condorcocha Lagoon, located at an elevation of 16,732 feet (5,100 metres). We will then return to the Hermanos Carrel camp, where the exciting cycling tour of Chimborazo Volcano will commence.

Spanning 23 miles (38 kilometres), this route begins in a dry paramo ecosystem, providing opportunities to observe herds of vicuñas, curiquingues, and stellate hummingbirds. As we ride, you will also see unique flora such as ñáchag, romerillo, and ashpachocho, all while enjoying incredible vistas of the Central Andes.

The adventure continues as we navigate through picturesque rural goat trails known as chaquiñanes. Cycling through a magnificent gorge adorned with lush meadows, we will arrive at the village of San Juan, marking the conclusion of our cycling experience.

We will return to your hotel in Riobamba by 5 pm, bringing our memorable day to a close.
