Southern Highlands Kangaroo & Wombat Tour
Description
Discover the kangaroos and wombats of the Southern Highlands on an exciting day trip from Sydney. This journey also includes a visit to the stunning Fitzroy Falls and three picturesque national parks.
Day Trip Overview
For those in Sydney eager to encounter Australia’s iconic wildlife, this expedition offers an opportunity to see kangaroos and wombats in their natural habitat. We will meet at your chosen location at the scheduled time before embarking on our adventure southward. Get ready to explore national parks, witness breathtaking waterfalls, and experience rich local wildlife.
Our journey will follow one of Australia’s scenic routes, leading us deeper into the Australian outback to marvel at the majestic Fitzroy Falls, where water plunges over 80 metres (262 ft) in a spectacular display!
Situated in Morton National Park, these impressive waterfalls cascade dramatically down vast orange sandstone cliffs, offering a captivating view. While exploring this area, keep an eye out for various bird species soaring overhead near Fitzroy Falls.
Our next destination is Carrington Falls, located in Budderoo National Park. This park is renowned for its eucalyptus forests, featuring a stunning 90-metre (295-foot) drop and a diverse array of native flora and fauna.
To conclude our day, we will venture into Kangaroo Valley within the Southern Highlands, where you can observe the amiable wombats and kangaroos in their natural setting. Here, we will take a moment to learn more about these distinctive Australian natives while enjoying a delightful barbecue lunch or a picnic, based on availability. You’ll also have some leisure time to stroll around and interact with these charming creatures.
After a fulfilling 10-hour day, we will return to our original meeting point to conclude the journey.
