Description
Experience the hidden gems of the northern Dominican Republic on a day excursion to Onda and Ermitaño Beaches, departing from Samana or Las Terrenas. Are you ready to unveil a slice of paradise?
Options for Day Trips
While making your reservation, you can select from the following options. Each option includes transportation via a speedboat, the assistance of an English-speaking guide, and lunch. Review the details for each option below:
Day Trip from El Valle or Samaná (4.5-5 Hours)
We'll gather at El Valle Beach or the Santorino Restaurant in Santa Bárbara de Samaná at the scheduled time. Once everyone is onboard, we’ll set off in a speedboat to explore the stunning aspects of this northern region of the island.
Our initial destination is Ermitaño Beach, known for its nearly inaccessible cove, surrounded by lush vegetation. This natural setting houses diverse wildlife, including iguanas, white-necked crows, and palmchats. Curious about the origin of its name? It’s tied to a certain French pirate; discover the complete story with us!
We will then proceed to Onda Beach, nestled within a tranquil bay where coconut palm trees sway beside turquoise waters. If you wish to take a dip, you might be greeted by some stunning marine life.
At midday, savor a delicious lunch featuring local specialties, including fish, chicken, potatoes, fried plantain, coconut water, and mineral water.
Our adventure concludes as we return to our starting point in El Valle or Samaná after approximately 4.5-5 hours.
Day Trip from Las Terrenas (7 Hours)
On this trip, we will meet at Las Ballenas Beach in Las Terrenas at the arranged time. Our journey begins aboard a speedboat that will take us to uncover the most picturesque locations along the northern coastline.
We will first visit Astillero Beach, known for its golden sands and serene waters, perfect for a relaxing swim to start our day. Afterwards, we'll head towards Morón Beach, a hidden beach that offers an almost untouched environment, creating a perfect backdrop for stunning photos and exploration.
Ready for more? Our next stop is Onda Beach, where the stunning scenery will beckon you to immerse yourself in the Caribbean’s crystalline waters. Finally, we will arrive at Ermitaño Beach, a secret treasure surrounded by clear waters. Here, there will be opportunities to explore the nearby reefs, and you can also indulge in a flavorful barbecue lunch made from seasonal local ingredients. What more could you desire?
After fully enjoying this exceptional day, we will return to the boat and make our way back to the original meeting point, completing our adventure in 7 hours.
