Join us on this 2-day expedition to the ancient ruins of Copán, where we will delve into the remarkable Mayan temples and palaces. This site stands out as one of the foremost archaeological treasures in Honduras.
Itinerary
Day 1: San Salvador - San Andrés - Copán
Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in San Salvador at 8:30 am. Our first stop will be the San Andrés Archaeological Park, where a guided tour will immerse you in the history of its acropolis and pyramids. You might be surprised to learn that these ancient ruins were hidden under volcanic ash for a lengthy period.
After the tour, we will continue our journey, crossing the border into Guatemala before reaching Honduras. After approximately 4 hours on the road, we will arrive in Copán. You will have the afternoon at your leisure to enjoy lunch, explore the local area, or relax at your hotel.
Day 2: Copán - San Salvador
The following morning at 9 am, we will take you to the Copán Archaeological Park. Here, you will have around 3 hours to discover these Mayan ruins, which have been recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Prepare to be awed by the pyramids, temples, altars, and sports fields that lie ahead!
At 1 pm, we will regroup and board our bus for the return to El Salvador. We will conclude this enriching journey with a drop-off at your hotel in San Salvador by 6 pm.
3-Day Tour
If you're interested, an additional night can be included. On this third day, we will follow a similar itinerary to that of the second day, as outlined previously.
Accommodation
This tour offers 1 or 2 nights of accommodation in a 3-star hotel, such as Hotel Plaza Copán, Don Udo's, or a comparable venue. The quoted price is per person sharing a double room.

Informations importantes
On the day of the activity, the local tour provider will pick you up from your hotel in San Salvador at the time indicated. Please be ready in the hotel reception at least 15 minutes in advance.
Pickup time
If you're staying at a tourist house, please meet at the indicated time at the local tour provider's offices, Inter Tours. They're on the 1st floor of the Balam Quitzé Shopping Centre.
Necessary documents
- To participate in this activity, you must have a valid passport. 3 days before the tour, please fill out this form.
- For Costa Rican nationals, you must bring your criminal record
- British passports require a visa to gain entry
Custom taxes not included
On the day of the activity, you have to pay 3USD in cash as a tax to cross the border with Guatemala.
Vaccination card
To enter Honduras, African and South American passengers (including Panama and excluding Chile and Uruguay), must bring with them a vaccination card against yellow fever when crossing the border with Guatemala.
