30-Minute Helicopter Experience

Upon arrival at Lake Tekapo Airport at the designated time, prepare for a scenic helicopter flight across the landscape. Expect breathtaking views of the vibrant turquoise waters of Lake Tekapo, the quaint village, and the iconic Mt. John Observatory.

As we fly over picturesque hill-country homesteads, including Mt Hay, Glenmore, and Godley Peaks Sheep Stations, an exhilarating alpine landing awaits at a sheep station situated at 5,500 feet (1,676 meters) above sea level. Capture stunning vistas of the mountainous terrain.

After enjoying this breathtaking stop, we’ll continue our flight over spring-fed Lake Alexandrina, juxtaposed with the glacially-fed Lake Tekapo. Concluding our remarkable adventure, we will return to land 30 minutes later.

50-Minute Tour in a Light Aircraft

This scenic expedition begins with a flight from Lake Tekapo aboard a small plane, presenting a unique aerial perspective of New Zealand’s captivating glacial landscapes. Enjoy the views from your own window seat as we traverse over Aoraki Mount Cook, the tallest peak in New Zealand. Our route will also take us over the Tasman Glacier, showcasing impressive glaciers, turquoise lakes, and the renowned braided rivers of the Mackenzie Basin.

Throughout the journey, observe high-country sheep stations and fascinating glacial valleys that contribute to the area's stunning vistas, along with the golden tussock lands that define this spectacular landscape.

In addition, we’ll venture over Westland Tai Poutini National Park, where the magnificent Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers extend toward nearby rainforests and the Tasman Sea. Be ready to capture incredible photos as we navigate through some of New Zealand's most isolated terrains! After 50 minutes, we will safely land, concluding this unforgettable journey.

1-Hour Helicopter Tour

Embarking on this scenic helicopter flight, you'll gain a fresh perspective over the turquoise waters of Lake Tekapo while observing the intricate river systems that flow into it, including Mt John Observatory.

Our route will take us over Glenmore and Godley Peaks Sheep Stations, revealing the rugged landscapes and steep mountains of the Cass, Fork, and Jollie Valleys, noted for their merino sheep. Your pilot will provide interesting information about the local sheep farming practices as we glide past.

As we proceed, we’ll fly above the Tasman Glacier, getting a bird's-eye view of the milky waters of the Tasman Terminal Lake. Keep an eye on the Tasman River as it flows into Lake Pukaki!

This flight will also provide impressive views of Aoraki Mount Cook, Mount Tasman, and Tai Poutini National Park, where you can see the Franz and Fox glaciers up close.

As a highlight, we’ll make a memorable alpine snow landing on Liebig Dome at an elevation of 7,700 feet (2,346 m), where you can take in the sweeping views of Mount Cook National Park. Alternatively, depending on weather, we may land at one of the huts located in Cass Valley on Glenmore Sheep Station.

After a remarkable hour in the air, we will return safely to the ground, bringing this extraordinary experience to a close.
