PADI Advanced Open Water Diving Course
If you have completed the PADI Open Water Diver course and are eager to deepen your understanding of diving, the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is your next logical step. This program allows you to dive to a maximum depth of 100 feet (30 meters). You have the option to undertake the theoretical portion at the dive center or complete it online from the comfort of your home if you have limited time.
The course consists of five dives: two mandatory ones - the Deep Adventure Dive and the Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive - along with three specialty dives from the following available options:
- Wreck Diver.
- Night Diver.
- AWARE - Fish Identification.
- Boat Diver.
- Peak Performance Buoyancy.
Day 1: Deep Adventure Dive and Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive
On the first day, we will collect you from your hotel in Trincomalee at 8:30 am and transport you to the dive center. Upon arrival, you will receive your diving equipment before boarding a speedboat to the designated dive site.
This day will focus on mastering the specialties of deep diving and underwater navigation. You will learn to handle depths of up to 100 feet (30 meters) and develop skills for orientation beneath the surface.
Days 2 and 3: Specialties
The following two days will be dedicated to your three specialty dives based on your selected options.
Each specialty dive is distinct and offers practical knowledge that you can utilize in future diving adventures — the choice of specialties allows you to tailor the course to your personal interests and requirements!
Upon successful completion of all exercises, you will earn your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certificate.
Course Requirements
- The minimum age for participating in the course is 12 years.
- To qualify for this advanced certification, you must have completed the PADI Open Water course prior.
Pick-Up Information
This activity includes hotel pick-up in Trincomalee. If you are located outside of this area, you will need to make your way to Ward No. 1, 9th Mile Post independently.
Vital Information
After your final dive, it is essential to wait at least 24 hours before flying or ascending to higher altitudes.

If you are staying in another area, we will meet up at 8:30 am at NILAVELI DIVING CENTRE, PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Resort, located at Ward No. 1, 9th Mile Post, Nilaveli 31010. You must arrive at least 15 minutes in advance.
