Our first stop will be the Plaza de San Lorenzo, where we’ll encounter the 16th-century Casa de las Torres, also referred to as the Palacio de los Dávalos. During renovations, a woman's body was discovered bricked up within its walls. What mysterious events led to her untimely demise? We will soon unveil the answers!
Next, we will visit the Casa de Luna y Sol, an eccentric residence adorned with coats of arms featuring the sun and moon. Who was the enigmatic historical figure that called this house home? The story awaits you!
Continuing into the historic core of Úbeda, prepare to be awed by the grandeur of Vázquez de Molina Square. This central location houses the Basílica y Real Colegiata de Santa María la Mayor de los Reales Alcázares de Úbeda, classified as a Bien de Interés Cultural (Asset of Cultural Interest). Local lore claims an elf roams its interiors! Additionally, you'll observe the stunning Holy Chapel of the Savior, renowned for its exquisite stone facade, considered one of Andalusia’s finest.
Our journey will then take us to the Plaza de San Pablo, where we’ll explore the Church of San Pablo. Here, we will recount the tale of the La Pastora celebration, which has ceased due to a tragic incident. Finally, we will wander through the narrow streets of the city, discovering the legacy of one of Úbeda’s most notable figures, Hernán Crespo, celebrated for a unique gift that has immortalized him in the city's memory.
