The breathtaking beauty of Lauca National Park is hard to encapsulate in mere words. This excursion allows you to immerse yourself in the stunning landscapes surrounding Lake Chungará, situated within a vibrant ecosystem where you might encounter llamas, alpacas, vicuñas, and various species typical of the Andean highlands.

Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Arica between 7:00 and 8:00 am. From there, we'll embark on a journey to the Andean highlands of northern Chile, as we explore the natural wonders of Lauca National Park, home to the remarkable Lake Chungará.

Our first stop will be the quaint village of Poconchile, where you can visit the historic San Jerónimo church, established in 1605. Continuing our journey towards Chungará, we'll pass through the picturesque Los Cardones ravine, the settlement of Malku, and the stunning viewpoint in Putre, where incredible panoramic vistas of Lauca National Park await.

Next, we'll proceed to the Chucuyo viewpoint, the last stop before reaching Lake Chungará. Set at an elevation of 4500 meters (14763 feet), this Andean lake is part of an ecological zone rich in biodiversity. Here, you can enjoy a walk around the lake to observe various native wildlife, including alpacas, guanacos, vicuñas, llamas, and other Andean creatures.

Furthermore, Lake Chungará is a haven for a variety of high-altitude birds such as Chilean flamingos, Neotropic cormorants, South American ostriches, as well as giant taguas, and condors, among others. After exploring the avian life, we will head to a local restaurant where you can savor a delightful three-course meal featuring local flavors.

Upon concluding our culinary experience, we will make our way back to your hotel in Arica, with an expected arrival time around 7:00 pm.
