Embark on an inspiring journey along the Water Route passing through Chaves, Vidago, and Verin, where the healing properties of the Iberian Peninsula's most mineral-rich waters await your discovery.

Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel at the arranged time, followed by a comfortable minibus ride to the start of the Portuguese Water Route.

Our first stop is Vidago, a quaint village renowned for its therapeutic waters, which are highly regarded for their effectiveness in treating conditions like gout and diabetes. Here, you will explore the spa and sample the local mineral water, which has a rich production history dating back to 1886.

Next, we will make our way back to Chaves, the heart of the Alto Tâmega region, formerly known as Aquae Flaviae in Roman times, highlighting its historical significance related to the health benefits of its waters. A visit to the Roman baths follows, where treatments utilizing these silica-rich waters historically addressed ailments such as rheumatism and skin issues. After this enlightening experience, you will enjoy a break for lunch. During this time, we recommend tasting the famed Chaves cake, a local delicacy.

Once we reconvene, we will continue along the Water Route, crossing into Spain to tour the impressive castle of Monterrey, a stunning fortress-palace that dates back to the 10th century. Our journey will then take us to the charming Galician town of Verin, celebrated for its natural springs that supply mineral water sold across the Iberian Peninsula, including notable brands like Cabreiroa, Fontenova, and Sousa. Here, you'll have the chance to visit local spas and sample a variety of waters, including Fonte do Sapo and Caldeliñas.

At the conclusion of our exploration, we will return you to your hotel approximately 6 hours after departure.
