Inca Jungle Trek: 3 or 4 Days

Upon booking, you may select either a 3 or 4-day trek. For both options, transportation will be arranged from your accommodation in Cusco at the designated time.

3-Day Trek Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco - Santa María - Santa Teresa

Your adventure begins at 6 am with the pickup from your Cusco hotel, followed by a bus ride through the scenic Sacred Valley of the Incas. The journey includes stops in Chinchero, Urubamba, and Ollantaytambo, before reaching the Puerto de Málaga at an elevation of nearly 14,300 feet (4,350 meters). Here, you’ll embark on a thrilling 3-hour biking excursion towards the village of Santa María.

After enjoying lunch, those interested may opt for an exhilarating rafting experience on the Vilcanota River. The day concludes with a comfortable overnight stay in Santa Teresa.

Day 2: Santa Teresa - Aguas Calientes

Following a breakfast featuring excellent "valley coffee", dive into a zipline adventure to enhance your morning. A subsequent 3-hour trek will guide you to the village of Hidroeléctrica for lunch. Post meal, a further 3-hour stroll along the railway allows for the exploration of remarkable local flora and fauna.

By around 5 pm, we’ll arrive at our lodge in Aguas Calientes, where dinner and overnight accommodations await.

Day 3: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

Following breakfast in Aguas Calientes, we will head towards Machu Picchu, while also providing the option to take a bus to the entrance. If you secured a ticket for Huayna Picchu ahead of time, you can ascend this impressive mountain. A 2-hour guided tour of the Machu Picchu Archaeological Site awaits you.

Returning to Aguas Calientes afterward, lunch will be on your own. Subsequently, we’ll travel by train or bus as per your reservation to Ollantaytambo, continuing back to Regocijo Square in Cusco by bus. Our estimated return will be in the late afternoon, contingent on your entrance time to Machu Picchu and the train schedule from Machu Picchu to Ollantaytambo.

4-Day Trek Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco - Santa María

Your journey kicks off at 6 am with your pickup from your hotel in Cusco, traveling by bus to the Malaga Pass. Here, you will enjoy a 3-hour biking adventure leading to the village of Santa María, providing views of diverse Andean and jungle ecosystems.

After checking into your accommodation for the evening, those eager for more can partake in rafting on the Vilcanota River that afternoon, or simply relax until the next day's adventures.

Day 2: Santa María - Santa Teresa

Post-breakfast at the Santa María hostel, we will begin a scenic hike on traditional Inca paths, traversing the high jungle with plantations for tropical fruits, coca, and coffee.

A delightful lunch at a local family's home precedes a visit to the Cocalmayo open-air hot springs for much-needed relaxation. After dinner in Santa Teresa, we will settle in for the night.

Day 3: Santa Teresa - Aguas Calientes

After breakfast, you’ll have some free time for optional ziplining before embarking on a 3-hour hike towards the village of Hidroeléctrica for lunch.

Following lunch, a 2-hour hike brings you to Aguas Calientes, where you will enjoy dinner at a local hotel before resting for the night.

Day 4: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu

Your day hinges on the time of your entrance to Machu Picchu, with an approximate 2.5-hour uphill trek leading you to the majestic Machu Picchu, the lost city of the Incas.

Upon arrival, a 2.5-hour guided tour will reveal the wonders of this archaeological marvel. The rest of the morning allows for independent exploration of sites such as Huayna Picchu and the Temple of the Moon.

In the afternoon, we will return by train to Ollantaytambo and subsequently board a bus back to Cusco.
