São Miguel: 2 Day Tour

Day 1: Furnas & Tea Plantations (8 hours)

We will gather at the designated meeting point on João Bosco Mota Amaral Avenue in Ponta Delgada, then set off via minibus to the lovely town of Vila Franca do Campo. There, you can wander through its charming streets and take in views of the volcanic islet located off the coast before we continue our journey to Furnas.

In Furnas, you will encounter volcanic craters, fumaroles, and an enchanting lagoon. During our exploration of the area, we will share insights into the island's volcanic characteristics before enjoying a meal of cozido à portuguesa, a signature dish of São Miguel. Additionally, there will be time to explore the local botanical gardens at your leisure.

Our final destination for the day will be the Gorreana tea plantations. Here, you will experience a tour of the gardens and savor one of their renowned teas, allowing you to appreciate the unique aromas and flavors. The day's tour will conclude around 4:30 pm.

Day 2: Sete Cidades & Lagoa do Fogo (8 hours)

After picking you up from the meeting point, we will head towards the heart of São Miguel Island to visit Lagoa do Fogo. You will learn about the geological formation of this volcanic lake and have the opportunity to explore the surrounding natural beauty, rich in local flora and fauna.

The day will continue with visits to the various viewpoints around Lagoa das Sete Cidades, the most iconic spring in this area of the Azores. We'll walk across the bridge, sharing intriguing facts about this natural wonder.

Before returning you to your accommodation, we will pause for lunch in a traditional eatery. The tour will wrap up as we bring you back to the original meeting point by 4:30 pm.
