Excursion to Barranquilla

The adventure begins bright and early! At 6:30 am, we will collect you from your accommodation in Santa Marta, embarking on a scenic drive to Barranquilla, situated about 2 hours away. Can you guess which international icon hails from this lively city?

Upon arrival, we will explore the El Prado neighborhood, renowned for being the pioneer of modern urban planning concepts—prepare to be impressed by its stunning architecture! A highlight will be pausing in front of the Amira de la Rosa Theatre, named after the lyricist who penned Barranquilla's beloved anthem.

Next, we’ll head to the Plaza de la Aduana, the city's central hub. As we meander through the quaint streets, you’ll get a chance to take in the façade of the Metropolitan Cathedral along with the renowned Museum of the Caribbean.

Our journey continues to the Cumbiódromo, where the community gathers annually for the highly anticipated Carnival of Barranquilla. Recognized as Colombia's most significant folkloric celebration, this event truly encapsulates the spirit of the city.

After a day filled with discovery, we will return to Santa Marta, ensuring you are comfortably taken back to your hotel. Our farewells will take place at around 2:30 pm.
