Established in 1986, the Museum of Cycladic Art has emerged as a prominent archaeological hub in Athens. Its curated collection features over 3,000 items from mainland Greece, Cyprus, and the Cyclades, particularly highlighting the Cycladic Art from the 3rd millennium BC.
Exhibitions at the Museum of Cycladic Art
The museum's permanent collection is distributed across three distinct floors, each dedicated to a thematic exploration:
- Cycladic Culture: On this level, you will find an impressive array of weapons, ceramics, figurines, jugs, and various artifacts crafted during the Copper and Bronze Ages on the central Aegean islands.
- Ancient Greek Art: Delve into the origins and evolution of one of the world’s most significant civilizations and the birthplace of democracy within this exhibition.
- Cypriot Art: This section explores the historical narratives surrounding various ancient communities and societies that inhabited Cyprus, emphasizing its strategic importance in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Opening Hours of the Museum
The museum welcomes visitors at the following times:
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday: 10 am to 5 pm.
- Thursday: 10 am to 8 pm
- Sunday: 11 am to 5 pm
Key Information
The museum remains closed on Tuesdays, as well as on Clean/Ash Monday, Easter Sunday and Monday, and Holy Spirit Monday. Note that the specific dates for these holidays vary each year; therefore, it is advisable to verify these details prior to your visit.

You can access the Museum of Cycladic Art at the time you wish. You just need to present this voucher at the museum's ticket offices, located at: number 4, Neophytou Douka. Athens.
You can arrive via public transport. The nearest metro stops are Evangelismos and Syntagma (both are one the blue line 3).
The museum is open to the public during the following times:
