Corinth, Mycenae, Nafplion & Epidaurus Day Trip
Description
Discover the wonders of Classical Greece on an immersive full-day excursion that will take you through the Corinth Canal, Epidaurus, and Mycenae. Experience the vibrant history and rich culture of the Argolis peninsula as you embark on this journey.
Day Trip Overview
We will gather at Athanasiou Diakou Street, number 26, then set off towards the stunning Corinth Canal. Here, you will have the opportunity to marvel at one of engineering’s remarkable achievements.
Next, we will proceed to the Argolid region, where the ancient city of Mycenae, a crucial hub of Greek civilization, awaits. At the archaeological site, you will step into the legendary world of Agamemnon, engaging with the epic tales celebrated in Homer's Iliad and Odyssey.
Your exploration will include significant landmarks such as the Lion's Gate and the Tomb of Agamemnon. From there, we will journey to Nafplion, noted as the initial capital of modern Greece. Once there, you will enjoy 1.5 hours of leisure time to savor lunch and wander through the town. Be sure to admire the striking Palamidi Fortress and the Bourtzi Castle, as well as the delightful streets of the town center.
Replenished from lunch, we will head to Epidaurus, the birthplace of Asclepius, the deity of medicine. The highlight of this location is undoubtedly the Theater of Epidaurus. If you prefer, you can opt out of the guided tour and enjoy an hour of free time while the tour group embarks on the site visit.
We will conclude our day with a return trip to Athens, arriving at our original meeting point approximately 10 hours after we began.
Optional Lunch Offer
An optional lunch will be provided in Nafplion, featuring two courses of authentic Greek cuisine along with dessert. Please note that beverages are not included in this offer.
