Tour of Chaves, Boticas, & Montalegre

Your journey begins with a pickup from your accommodation in Boticas as we set off towards the Tras-os-Montes region, focusing on one of its most stunning areas: Alto Tamega. Throughout the tour, you'll encounter quaint villages that are bound to captivate your heart.

Our first destination is Montalegre, renowned for its awe-inspiring 13th-century castle. At the base of this historic structure, you'll find the Ecomuseu de Barroso - Espaço Padre Fontes, showcasing exhibits that delve into the village's rich history and environmental significance.

After our museum visit, we return to Boticas to explore the Rural Museum. Following this, you’ll enjoy an hour of leisure for a delightful lunch. Once we’ve wrapped up our meal, we journey to Chaves to explore its majestic medieval castle and uncover its Roman legacy, which includes the famous thermal baths and stone bridge.

Finally, we return to your hotel in Boticas, with drop-off scheduled for 5 pm.

Tour of Chaves, Valpaços, & Vila Pouca de Aguiar

This alternative option grants you the opportunity to explore Chaves, as on the previous tour, while also visiting other notable sites in Trás-os-Montes.

We will highlight the charming Vila Pouca de Aguiar, where a visit to the Parque de Pedras Salgadas awaits, featuring an area filled with uniquely shaped stones set within a wooded landscape. Additionally, we will venture to Valpaços, home to the Wine Museum, where you can immerse yourself in the local winemaking traditions. The choice of specific sites is yours to make!
