La Malinche National Park Trek
Description
Discover the stunning La Malinche National Park, immerse yourself in the natural environment and experience spectacular vistas as we embark on a hike to the summit of a volcanic landscape.
Trekking in La Malinche National Park
Your adventure begins at 6 am, as we collect you from your accommodation in Cholula and journey to the picturesque state of Tlaxcala, where we will commence our 10-hour trekking excursion in La Malinche National Park.
Entering the park, we will reach a lodge situated at an elevation of 3100 meters above sea level, which serves as the starting point for our hike. Are you prepared? We will ascend the mountainside through lush thickets of oyamel, conifers, and pines, tackling steep inclines that reach up to 45 degrees!
A brief halt will be made at a scenic spot known as Los Arenales, where you can rejuvenate and take in the remarkable views. This location provides an excellent vantage point for observing the peak of the La Malinche volcano.
Onward to the final stretch! We will make our way to a height of 4461 meters, and if conditions are favorable, you may witness the striking panorama of the volcanic range, including Citlaltépetl, Popocatépetl, and Iztaccíhuatl—an unforgettable sight that feels straight out of a cinematic masterpiece!
Afterward, we will descend back to the lodge, where our vehicles will be waiting to transport us back to Cholula. We anticipate arriving at your hotel around 7 pm.
