Cochabamba Guided Tour
Description
This guided exploration of Cochabamba invites you to delve into the key structures and landmarks within the historic center of this vibrant Bolivian city. Experience the grandeur of the San Sebastian Cathedral, admire urban art murals, and much more.
Cochabamba Guided Exploration
We will convene at 2 PM in the central Plaza de Colón to kick off our journey through Cochabamba. After taking in the beauty of the square, we will also explore the remarkable El Hospicio church and the Colón building, setting the stage for our walking adventure.
As we stroll through the city streets, we'll appreciate the murals honoring the women of Cochabamba, whose courageous actions in the early 19th century exemplified fierce determination to safeguard their land. This part of our tour will shed light on their inspiring story. We'll then encounter the famous murals "Ángel Andino" and "Tinku Callejero".
Continuing our exploration, we'll make our way to the 25 de Mayo market, where you'll observe the daily lives and customs of the locals firsthand. Close by, you’ll have the opportunity to sample phisara or pisara, a delicious quinoa dish complemented by fresh cheese and potatoes.
Our journey proceeds to the Plaza 14 de Septiembre, where numerous architectural wonders await our admiration, including the stunning Catedral de San Sebastián. This 17th-century cathedral boasts an impressive tower and an intricate rose window. While we take in the surrounding administrative buildings, a brief explanation of the significance of the Bolivian coat of arms and flag will be provided.
The exploration of Cochabamba concludes at the Plaza 14 de Septiembre at 4:30 PM, after an engaging two-and-a-half-hour walk through the city.
