During the Second World War, the museum's collection faced threats; however, the director Nikolaos Platon played a pivotal role in preserving its treasures. His dedication enabled the museum to officially welcome visitors in 1952.

Your ticket permits access to 27 exhibition rooms within this esteemed museum, noted as one of Europe's finest, particularly for its distinct collection of Minoan artifacts. • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday: open from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, with last entry at 3 pm.
