Upon reaching our destination, we will begin with an exterior visit to the medieval castle of Chaves. This historic fortress, now home to a military museum, has seen many historical conflicts between Portugal and Spain.
Next, we'll admire the facades of the 17th-century forts of São Francisco and São Neutel, built as defensive structures against the Spanish. Following this, we will marvel at the stunning Roman bridge over the Tâmega River, constructed under the reign of Trajan, the first Hispanic emperor. Its arches have remarkably endured since the days of the Roman Empire!
