Description
Join us on a guided exploration of Castelsardo, where we'll delve into the enchanting historical heart of this medieval treasure situated on Sardinia's northwest coast. Experience its charm firsthand!
Description
Gathering at Piazza Bastione at the scheduled time marks the beginning of our guided exploration of Castelsardo. Nestled on a hillside along the northwest coast of Sardinia, this village is celebrated as one of the prettiest in Italy. Let's discover the reasons behind its acclaim!
Our journey will commence at the Porta Pisana, a grand entryway that will transport you to medieval eras. We'll meander through the picturesque streets of Castelsardo, sharing intriguing stories and folklore about the town while appreciating its distinct architecture.
Next, we'll visit the Loggia Comunale, a significant landmark reflecting the local heritage, governance, and culture. Following this, our path leads to the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, a revered site steeped in the traditions of Holy Week. Here, we'll explore the city's rich ecclesiastical heritage and the festivities and processions held during this season.
Following our discussions, you'll have a moment to wander and optionally explore the Castle of Castelsardo or the ancient fortress known as Castello dei Doria. How about soaking in the panoramic views of the Mediterranean from this vantage point? It's an ideal setting for photographs!
To conclude our journey pleasantly, we'll savor an aperitif at a local restaurant. Indulge in regional specialties like cured meats, cheeses, and further delicacies, complemented by a glass of local wine—whether it be Vermentino or Cannonau—a draft beer, or a soft drink. Salute!
After two hours of exploration, we'll wrap up this guided tour of Castelsardo. We hope to welcome you back in the future!
