Description

Gather at the Plaza Margarita Xirgú to commence your private tour of Mérida. Are you prepared to immerse yourself in the historical essence of this UNESCO World Heritage Site?

As this is a private tour, consider it your opportunity to shape the journey! We can explore the contrast between the contemporary Merida and its ancient counterpart, Augusta Emerita, while wandering through the historic district. Should there be specific monuments that capture your interest, feel free to cover the entrance costs, and we will accompany you throughout your visits. The decision lies in your hands!

If museums or archaeological spots don't spark your enthusiasm, that's perfectly fine! Let us guide you through the enchanting old town, where the compelling history of Mérida unfolds. As we stroll, you'll encounter a variety of street-level landmarks, including the stunning Roman bridge over the Guadiana River and the Arch of Trajan, which dates back to the first century.

During our exploration, we will visit the Temple of Diana, located in the ancient Roman forum. This temple is often linked to imperial worship due to its design and historical significance. Together, we will uncover insights into the daily life in Augusta Emerita, revealing the customs and traditions of that pivotal period.

After three hours of cultural discovery, we will conclude our private tour of Mérida at Plaza de España.
