Tour Overview

Day 1

Our journey begins in Edinburgh, where we'll convene at 60 High Street for an exhilarating highland expedition. As we travel, gaze in awe at the iconic Forth Bridge before we weave through the breathtaking scenery of the Highlands. Our first destination is Perthshire, a region renowned for its enchanting forests, rivers, and mountains. Here, we will explore the charming village of Dunkeld, nestled on the banks of the River Tay and home to its historic cathedral. As we venture further north, we will navigate the vast Great Glen, a stunning valley stretching 62 miles (100 km). Our day concludes at Fort Augustus, where you’ll have the opportunity to wander the shores of Loch Ness, perhaps even catching a glimpse of Nessie, the legendary creature said to inhabit its waters!

Continuing our journey, we will visit the renowned Eilean Donan Castle, one of Scotland’s most notable landmarks, before reaching the Isle of Skye, affectionately referred to as the 'Winged Isle'. Our overnight stay will be in the picturesque capital of the isle, Portree.

Day 2

On our second day, we will immerse ourselves in the breathtaking landscapes of the Isle of Skye. The day promises adventure as we explore the island's myths and legends, including tales of Bonnie Prince Charlie’s daring escape amid the rugged Cuillin Mountains. Among the highlights are the striking rock formation known as the Old Man of Storr, the impressive Kilt Rock with its cascading water, and the majestic Dunvegan Castle. We will relax and recharge for the next day's adventures, staying once more in Portree.

Day 3

Our final day allows for further exploration of Skye’s natural beauty before we board a ferry to the charming fishing village of Mallaig on the west coast. As we travel, enjoy stunning vistas from the coach, including the famed Glenfinnan Viaduct, which honors Bonnie Prince Charlie's historic campaign.

Before we return, we will visit the Dundreggan Rewilding Centre, a conservation hub with scenic walking trails. Our route back will take us through the awe-inspiring Glencoe, untamed Rannoch Moor, and the heart of Rob Roy country. We will reach Edinburgh by approximately 8:30 pm, concluding our journey at Waterloo Place in the heart of the city.

Itinerary Adjustments

During the Winter months, the itinerary experiences some adjustments, and the visit to Dunvegan Castle is confined to the summer season. From mid-October through mid-April, we will replace some attractions with a voyage across the Skye Bridge and a stop at the Commando Memorial, where stunning views of Ben Nevis, Britain’s tallest peak, await.

It's also important to note that the tour may occasionally operate in reverse order, resulting in potential changes to the route while still ensuring you experience the same major sights.

Accommodation Information

All tour packages include Bed and Breakfast arrangements, utilizing various local accommodation providers. Due to the island's limited lodging options, all stays are concentrated in Portree. Breakfast is included, but other meals will not be provided.
