Exploring Florence on Foot
Gather at the designated meeting point in Piazza dell'Unità Italiana, conveniently located near the iconic Basilica of Santa Maria Novella. Our adventure begins here as we delve into the heart of the Tuscan capital's historic center.
Our first stop will be the Medici Chapels, where we will explore the engrossing legacy of the Medici family. Just a short walk away is the San Lorenzo Basilica, one of the city’s key religious sites. Following this, we will immerse ourselves in the lively atmosphere of the San Lorenzo Market, filled with vibrant stalls.
Next, we will proceed to the grand Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, renowned for its stunning dome crafted by Brunelleschi and the striking Giotto bell tower. Adjacent to the Cathedral, you can admire the Baptistery of San Giovanni, celebrated for its exquisite façade. Our journey continues through the lively Piazza della Repubblica and Piazza della Signoria, which are central to the city's vibrant life.
The itinerary then leads us to the illustrious Uffizi Gallery, a significant cultural gem within Florence. We will then marvel at the Arno River, notable for the historic Ponte Vecchio, which spans its narrowest point and carries a storied past that traces back to 1218.

The meeting point is in Piazza dell'Unità Italiana, in front of the Baglioni hotel. You'll recognise the guide by their pirate flag, as in the photo below. Please arrive a few minutes early.
