We will start the day with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Guardalavaca at the designated time, embarking on a brief one-hour drive to Holguin.

Upon arrival, our adventure kicks off at the Mirador de Mayabe, known for its stunning views over the lush Cuban landscape. Next, we will visit the renowned Orígenes Mural, a striking installation constructed with 20 tonnes of concrete. Following this, we will head to the San Isidoro Cathedral, where you can admire its beautiful colonial-style exterior and the intricate Arab-inspired interior.

The tour continues as we make our way to the Plaza Calixto García Íñiguez, established in 1720, where we will discuss significant events from the Cuban War of Independence. Our next stop is the La Periquera Museum, where we will delve into the indigenous artifacts and historical exhibitions that reflect the cultural identity of Holguin's people. You might be intrigued by the origin of the name of this colonial structure, linked to the colors of the uniforms worn by Spanish soldiers.

Continuing with our exploration of military history, we will visit the church of San José, a site that once provided fortification for Spanish forces during Cuba's fight for independence and is considered the oldest basilica in the region.

Next, prepare for a climb of 458 steps to the Loma de la Cruz, where a large wooden cross marks the summit, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Holguin. It's the perfect opportunity to capture the moment!
