Our adventure will commence at the pre-arranged hour on Calle Jirón 28 de Julio 710, where we will transfer to the Santa Cruz bridge. Let's begin our exploration!
Upon arrival, we will embark on a two-hour trek through the stunning landscapes of the Cordillera Negra. During the hike, keep an eye out for eagles and falcons soaring overhead, as well as the notable totora plant, which has historically been used to fashion rafts.
Reaching Lake Wilcacocha, you'll be rewarded with a magnificent viewpoint overlooking the Cordillera Blanca, featuring majestic peaks such as Huascarán, Copa, Vallunaraju, and Churup. You can stroll along the lake's edge and enjoy the pristine air at an altitude of 3,745 meters (12,200 feet). Don’t forget your camera!
After an hour set aside for a lunch break in this serene Peruvian setting, we'll begin our descent and head back to our vehicle for the return to Huaraz.
We expect to arrive back at our starting point between 3 and 4 pm.
