Amazon River: 3 Day Tour

Experience the captivating landscapes and diverse wildlife of the northern Amazon Rainforest on this three-day expedition along the Amazon River departing from Iquitos.

Tour Overview

Day 1

The tour begins at Napo number 326, where we will meet at the established time and transfer to Bellavista port. Here, we will board our vessel and commence our journey on the Amazon River.

Your first encounter with the largest river on the planet will lead us to our lodging, where a sumptuous lunch awaits. Enjoy some leisure time to unwind as we prepare for the afternoon's activities.

Later, we will reconvene for an exploratory trek into the rainforest to engage with a local indigenous community known as Timicurillo. Here, we will meet the residents and gain insights into their unique culture and way of life in the jungle before returning for dinner at the lodge.

Day 2

Our day kicks off with a robust breakfast, followed by a boat ride along the Amazon to Neyser Island, where we will tour a wildlife sanctuary. This visit will provide us with a chance to learn about the region's native species, spotting anacondas as well as fascinating animals like monkeys, sloths, and toucans.

Next, we will transfer to a smaller vessel and head to San Juan de Huashalado farm to explore the “El Encanto de Rony” rescue center. Here, we'll observe various species, including anacondas and colorful parrots.

As part of our visit, we will also indulge in traditional drinks including the aphrodisiac concoctions Rompe Calzón, 7 Raíces, Levántate Lázaro, and Espérame en el suelo. Additionally, we will sample a variety of medicinal beverages like Camú Camú and ginger, along with copaiba oil and oils derived from reptiles for their therapeutic properties.

Post-lunch, we will take to the waters with boats or canoes to fish in the Amazon River while enjoying the sunset. Finally, we will return to the lodge for dinner and share mythical stories and legends of the region.

Day 3

Your final day offers the opportunity to partake in a sunrise hike through the jungle. This recommended experience starts early at 4:30 am, but the breathtaking views of dawn over the Amazon will make it worthwhile.

Following breakfast, we will unite the group for one last river cruise on the Amazon towards Sinchicuy, an indigenous community where we will discover their craft-making traditions and learn about their fishing techniques with handmade rods. We will also seek out dolphins in the river.

Afterwards, we will return to the lodge for lunch before heading back to Iquitos, arriving around 4 pm after three remarkable days.

This three-day experience includes two nights of full-board accommodation at the Amazon Queen Lodge.
