Venado Caves Journey

Your adventure commences with a pickup from your accommodation at the designated time, followed by a scenic drive to the Venado Caves, situated approximately 45 minutes away from La Fortuna. These awe-inspiring caverns date back approximately 15 million years and were initially uncovered by the Guatuso Indigenous Peoples.

Equipped with essential gear such as flashlights, headlamps, and waterproof clothing, we will venture into the heart of the caves to unveil their hidden wonders. Inside, you will find a stunning array of geological formations, including stalactites and stalagmites, where moisture-loving species like bats, crabs, and frogs thrive.

Throughout our two-hour exploration, we will traverse underground rivers and ancient seabeds, admiring fascinating natural sculptures including the birth, papaya, coral, and altar. At the conclusion of our expedition, we will partake in a refreshing fruit snack to restore our energy before heading back to our accommodations.
