Oxford, Stratford, Cotswolds & Warwick Castle Day Trip
Description
Experience the beauty of the English countryside and visit renowned historical sites on this excursion to Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon, the Cotswolds, and Warwick Castle from London.
Trip Overview
The journey begins at a convenient meeting point near Victoria Station, where we will board a comfortable luxury coach and leave London behind. As we travel through the Cotswolds, recognized for its breathtaking natural scenery, you will be captivated by the stunning views of classic British landscapes and charming villages.
Our first destination is Warwick Castle, a stronghold established by William the Conqueror nearly 1000 years ago. Upon arrival, we'll participate in a welcoming experience with a medieval host who will introduce us to the magnificent castle. You’ll have the opportunity to step into the past through engaging interactive exhibits: get involved in medieval battle preparations by donning a helmet and selecting your ideal sword, or peep into a Victorian dinner party in the elegant Staterooms.
Once we’ve thoroughly explored Warwick Castle, our adventure continues to Stratford-upon-Avon, famously known as the birthplace of William Shakespeare. Here, you can wander through this delightful market town and visit the historic home of the illustrious playwright.
Next, we will journey to Oxford, renowned for being the oldest university in the UK. A guided walking tour through the cobbled streets will reveal iconic landmarks, including the Bodleian Library. We will also enter the stunning University Church of St Mary the Virgin, built in the 13th century, to admire its breathtaking baroque design.
As our memorable day concludes, we will return to London, arriving back at the original meeting location after approximately 10 hours of exploration.
