Egypt Tour Package: 8 Days All-Inclusive
Description
Experience the grandeur of ancient Egypt as we journey through the temples of Karnak and Hatshepsut, the iconic Abu Simbel, the formidable Aswan Dam, and the legendary pyramids of Giza during this comprehensive 8-day expedition from Luxor.
8-Day Itinerary Overview
Day 1: Welcome to Luxor
Your adventure begins upon your arrival at Luxor Airport. Here, you'll be assisted with obtaining your visa and navigating immigration. If you're already in Luxor, you'll be picked up from your hotel and trasladado to the cruise ship, where you can relax and enjoy dinner after settling into your cabin.
Day 2: Discover Luxor's Ancient Treasures
Start your day with breakfast onboard before disembarking for an exploration of Luxor, the heart of ancient Thebes. We’ll visit two of Egypt's most remarkable temples: Luxor Temple, an enduring monument, and the expansive Karnak Temple Complex, dedicated to the god Amun.
Following lunch on board, we'll venture to the renowned Valley of the Kings, where you can enter three tombs, followed by a tour of the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut and the magnificent Colossi of Memnon. Additionally, you'll have the chance to visit a local artisan shop, showcasing exquisite creations in stone, alabaster, and more.
As the day winds down, we will set sail towards Edfu, docking for dinner and a restful evening. Enjoy the picturesque views as we pass through the Esna lock at sunset.
Day 3: Temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo
After a hearty breakfast, we’ll board a horse-drawn carriage to explore the Temple of Edfu, an ode to the god Horus and one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt, perched on the west bank of the Nile.
Our cruise continues to Kom Ombo, where the beautifully symmetrical temple devoted to the gods Sobek and Haroeris awaits. With two entries, two hypostyle halls, and two sanctuaries, its design is strikingly unique.
In the evening, we will dock in Aswan for a restful night on the ship.
Note: In Edfu, transfers are conducted via horse-drawn carriage. Should you prefer an alternative mode of transport, kindly inform your guide in advance.
Day 4: Journey to Abu Simbel
Embark on a scenic bus trip to Abu Simbel, site of Egypt's most renowned temples, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The impressive temples were carved during the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses II and remarkably relocated to their current location to escape rising Nile waters.
After exploring the temples of Ramesses and Nefertiti, the return trip to Aswan will lead us past the impressive Aswan Dam, designed to curtail flooding from the Nile.
We'll conclude our day's explorations back on the cruise ship.
Day 5: Aswan and Flight to Cairo
After breakfast, we will disembark to visit the stunning Philae Temple Complex, dedicated to the goddess Isis, often referred to as the "Pearl of the Nile." A visit to a local perfume shop will reveal the richness of Egyptian fragrance traditions.
Next, enjoy a serene felucca ride, experiencing the harmony between the desert landscape and the Nile waters.
In the afternoon, you'll part ways with the cruise as we transfer you to Aswan Airport for your flight to Cairo. Upon arrival, we’ll escort you to your hotel for a night of relaxation.
Day 6: Giza, Saqqara, and Cairo Highlights
Our day starts with a visit to the incredible Giza pyramid complex and the Great Sphinx of Giza. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore the Great Pyramids up close. Next, we will tour a papyrus school to learn about this vital ancient Egyptian resource.
Feeling hungry? Delight in a traditional lunch before heading to Memphis, the first capital of Egypt, where we will explore Saqqara along with its necropolis and the impressive statue of Ramesses II.
After a break at the hotel, we will venture out for an evening excursion to Old Cairo, including a visit to the lively Khan el-Khalili bazaar and the famous Café of Mirrors, wrapping up with a traditional dinner.
Day 7: Cairo Exploration
On this seventh day, immerse yourself in Cairo's iconic landmarks, including the Citadel of Saladin and the magnificent Muhammad Ali Mosque. We'll stroll through the Coptic neighborhood, enjoy a delectable lunch, and marvel at the treasures within the Grand Egyptian Museum.
In the evening, we will savor dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 8: Departure from Cairo
After breakfast, we will escort you to Cairo Airport for your onward journey home. Your departure timing will be coordinated to accommodate your flight schedule.
Requirements for the Tour
To partake in this tour, simply book a flight to Luxor and return from Cairo, ensuring your arrival coincides with the tour's start and your return the following week on the same day. For instance, arriving in Luxor on a Tuesday means you return from Cairo the subsequent Tuesday.
We recommend arriving in Luxor by midnight at the latest to ensure a smooth start to your journey. Your guide will adjust departure arrangements based on your international flight time.
If you are staying at a hotel in Luxor, our team will facilitate your pickup on your first morning. Rest assured, we will communicate in advance to confirm specifics.
