Free Walking Tour of Manchester

At the designated time, we'll meet outside the Manchester Central Library next to the telephone booths, to begin our free tour of Manchester, the city where the industrial revolution was born.

We'll start walking around St. Peter Square to learn about the city's history, notable figures, and significant events. Do you know what the symbol of the city is? You'll have to join to find out!

Our first stop will be the Free Trade Hall, site of the Peterloo massacre, which played a key role in the emergence of the current democratic system. We will also discuss the cultural revival and Manchester's influence on music and the LGTBQ+ community.

Continuing the tour, we'll see landmarks like the Midland Hotel and Albert Hall. The guide will prompt reflections on the many bands and singers associated with the city. Next, we'll visit City Hall to learn about social movements that shaped the city's multicultural identity.

From there, we will enter the commercial district and admire the impressive Royal Exchange, highlighting Manchester's importance in the 19th century.

After a tour lasting approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes, we will conclude the experience next to Manchester Cathedral.
