Sormiou Calanque Hiking Activity
Description
Embark on an unforgettable hiking journey as we explore one of the most remarkable coves in the Calanques National Park, known for its stunning landscapes and natural beauty.
Sormiou Calanque Hiking Experience
Our adventure begins at the designated Chemin de Morgiou car park, where we will commence our trek toward the breathtaking Sormiou creek, a true gem within the Calanques National Park.
This 3-mile (5-kilometre) trek takes us through a picturesque scrub forest en route to the Sormiou Ridge. From this elevated and rocky vantage point, panoramic views await, featuring the surrounding massif, the serene Mediterranean Sea, and the vibrant city of Marseille.
As we continue our path, we'll descend towards the enchanting cove of Sormiou, where we'll take a moment to explore its quaint fishing village and idyllic beach. For those interested, there's an opportunity to dive into the crystal-clear waters of this lovely cove.
After a refreshing swim, we will begin our return trek, navigating a different route that highlights the nature, history, and culture of Calanques National Park, a protected treasure in southeastern France.
Concluding our hike approximately three and a half hours after we started, we will return to our original meeting point. We look forward to welcoming you again!
