El Salto Waterfall Hike
Description
Discover the awe-inspiring Andean vistas of Mendoza province on this incredible trek to El Salto waterfall. This experience is a highlight of your trip to Argentina.
Hike to El Salto Waterfall
Your adventure begins with hotel pickup in Mendoza between 7:10 am and 7:30 am as we head towards El Salto. Our route will take us through charming Andean villages such as Cacheuta and Potrerillos, featuring a stunning reservoir and framed by the majestic Cordón de Plata mountains!
During the journey, enjoy a delightful snack on board, featuring traditional Mendoza pancakes and a choice of beverages, including mate, coffee, or tea.
Upon arrival in El Salto, we will embark on a six-hour hike leading to one of the region's most picturesque waterfalls. The moderately challenging trail winds through diverse high mountain Andean terrains, reaching an elevation of 9000 ft above sea level.
The trail snakes through rocky passages, culminating in a scenic viewpoint of El Salto waterfall. In winter, you may witness a striking glacier-shaped formation at the base of the waterfall.
This is a perfect moment to soak in the breathtaking surroundings and watch majestic condors soar above. We will also take a break to enjoy a delightful picnic lunch featuring sandwiches or empanadas, fresh fruit, nuts, alfajores, a cereal bar, sweets, and an infusion.
After this revitalizing meal, we will retrace our steps back to the starting point. We will then return you to your hotel in Mendoza, arriving around 6 pm.
