Borghese Gallery Guided Tour
Description
Join us on this guided exploration of the remarkable artworks in the Borghese Gallery, which stands as a premier destination among Rome's art museums.
Tour Overview
The journey begins at Piazzale del Museo Borghese, located in the vibrant Villa Borghese, the most significant green area in Rome. Your guide will greet you here and provide insights into this iconic park before leading you into the Galleria Borghese. Nestled within a striking villa, this gallery is renowned for possessing one of the most exceptional private art assemblies worldwide. Prepare for an enlightening 2-hour guided tour led by an expert.
The museum's exquisite collection was initiated by Cardinal Scipione Borghese in the 17th century, showcasing numerous sculptures and antiquities arranged in an engaging, non-linear narrative.
During your visit to the sculpture halls, take a moment to appreciate the lifelike portrayal of "Venus Victorious" crafted by Antonio Canova. This piece, created in the early 1800s, presents Napoleon Bonaparte's sister as a Venus. You'll also admire other sculptural masterpieces, including Bernini's "David", a true Baroque treasure.
The exploration will conclude, marking the end of the 2-hour experience.
