Tour Overview
We'll gather at 65 Water Street, located alongside the Saint John River, at the specified time. Once all participants are accounted for, our guided exploration of Saint John, recognized as Canada’s first incorporated city, will commence. You'll discover what this heritage entails throughout the tour!
Beginning our journey, we'll delve into the intriguing past of Saint John, set along the Bay of Fundy. Our first destination will be the Three Sisters Lamp, a Victorian-era lighthouse that served as a beacon for 19th-century sailors navigating through the night.
Not far from there, we'll stop at the Trinity Anglican Church and Saint John's Port, offering stunning views of Partridge Island. Our path will lead us to Queen's Square, a spacious green area adorned with trees and fountains, providing a serene retreat within the bustling city!
Next on our itinerary is King's Square, a circular plaza surrounded by Victorian-style architecture. As we continue our stroll, we will pass the Imperial Theatre, renowned for its intricate façade that captivates onlookers. Another significant site is the Loyalist Burial Ground, resting place of the city’s earliest settlers.
Having immersed ourselves in Saint John's captivating history, we will next visit the City Market, a vibrant hub for both locals and visitors alike. Here, we'll unearth fascinating insights into the culinary delights and crafts unique to Saint John.
To conclude our expedition, we will traverse the Harbour Passage Trail, a scenic pathway featuring ascents and viewpoints that reveal breathtaking panoramas of the city. Before concluding our 2.5-hour journey, we will visit Fort La Tour, an historic military site where we will wrap up our adventure.
