Vlad Tepes, Vlad III, Vlad the Impaler, Dracul… This 15th-century Wallachian prince is known by many titles and shrouded in numerous tales. Which of these tales hold any truth? Join us as we delve into the legends surrounding this medieval monarch and the town that shaped him.

Our adventure commences at the Clock Tower Museum , where we will gather to kick off our exploration of Sighi?oara. With a height of 64 meters, the Clock Tower stands as the most recognizable of the nine remaining defensive structures within the city's fortress. This site is recognized as one of the most well-preserved medieval citadels in Europe—an impressive fact indeed!

Next, we will navigate through Sighi?oara’s historic center, guiding ourselves to the ancient church that crowns the hilltop. This church embodies the pinnacle of Gothic ecclesiastical architecture in Transylvania and provides breathtaking vistas of the surrounding cityscape.

As we meander through the cobblestone streets of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, intriguing anecdotes and lesser-known tales of the town will enrich our journey. Among these, we will discuss Vlad Tepes, the real figure behind Bram Stoker’s infamous novel Dracula. We’ll pass by the very house of his birth and delve into the captivating vampire lore of the region. You may find some of the revelations quite astonishing!

Our two-hour expedition through Sighi?oara will culminate back near our starting location.
