At the agreed time, a pick-up will be arranged from your accommodation in Tbilisi, from where we will journey through the Caucasian valleys in a jeep. Our destination lies 100 kilometers (62 miles) southeast of Tbilisi, specifically in the Kakheti region, home to the stunning David Gareja Monastery.

This site is a rock-hewn monastery complex established by St. David Gareja, one of the 13 Assyrian monks who traveled to Georgia in the 6th century and founded several monastic communities.

Perched beside the Mount Gareja desert, visitors can enjoy expansive views of the arid terrain surrounding the site. We will explore the complex, taking in its fortified walls, towering structures, ancient frescoes, and more.

During our exploration, we'll delve into the monastery's rich history, uncovering intriguing details such as the story of King Demetrius I of Georgia, who sought refuge here after his abdication in 1154.

Following this, prepare for an 8-kilometer (5 miles) hike across the Rainbow Mountains, where you will encounter landscapes that seem to belong to another world.

On our return journey, we'll pause at a charming village for lunch, where you will have the opportunity to enjoy the renowned Georgian mulled wine. After a fulfilling day of exploration lasting approximately ten hours, we will transport you back to Tbilisi and drop you off at your accommodation.
