Personalized Excursion from Trinidad
During your stay in Trinidad, take the chance to explore notable attractions nearby through a tailored private excursion. Each tour includes pickup and drop-off at your hotel, transport via bus or minibus, and an English-speaking guide dedicated to your group. Below is a breakdown of the various itineraries available:
Ibare-Mamoré Protected Area Adventure
Your experience will commence at 8 am as we journey towards Puerto Ballivián, the entry point to the Ibare-Mamoré Municipal Protected Area, a key natural reserve in Bolivia.
Upon arrival in Puerto Ballivián, we will board a boat for a 2.5-hour cruise along the Ibare River, navigating to the confluence with the Mamoré River. Throughout the journey, there will be opportunities to disembark and visit the local town of Loma Suarez and the community of San Carlos.
Following our boat trip, we will explore the area on foot, observing tropical plant crops and the diverse fauna that characterizes this Amazonian environment, including cocoi herons, jabirus, and yellow-spotted river turtles.
Our excursion will conclude with another boat ride to the Mamoré River's mouth, where we'll pause to witness the playful pink river dolphins and have the chance to swim in the warm waters.
You will be returned to your hotel by 4 pm to end your adventure.
Exploring Jesuit Missions of Moxos + Coitarama Lagoon
Your tour begins at 6 am with a pickup to visit San Javier and San Pedro, two historical Jesuit missions located in the province of Moxos, southern Bolivia.
Initially, we will stop at San Javier, one of the earliest Jesuit settlements, where we will explore its church and uncover its intriguing colonial history. Next, we will proceed to the San Pedro reductions, notable for its church that has been restored from the remnants of the original mission. You will have some free time here for lunch at your convenience.
Afterward, we will continue towards Coitarama Lagoon, where we will discover the diverse wildlife that thrives along its banks, including various insects, native birds, and mammals. If conditions do not permit access to the lagoon, we will visit the shores of the Ipuru River, where you may spot buffaloes or freshwater dolphins.
Your day will conclude as we drop you off at your hotel around 6 pm.
San Ignacio de Moxos Expedition
At 6 am, we will set off on an expedition to San Ignacio de Moxos to explore this former Jesuit settlement.
Our first stop will be the Museum of Moxos, where you can delve into the rich folklore of the region. Following this, we will visit the Musical Archive of Moxos, an important institution housing unique artifacts, including 18th-century musical scores. You will also have the chance to see the inside of the church of San Ignacio, constructed by the Jesuits during their time in Moxos.
Time will be given for you to enjoy lunch on your own. Later, we’ll head to a luthier's workshop to observe the craftsmanship of musical instrument-making, concluding our excursion at the School of Music, which boasts its own choir and orchestra.
We will return you to your hotel in Trinidad by late afternoon.
