City of Arts and Sciences Free Tour
Description
For architecture enthusiasts, this complimentary tour of the City of Arts and Sciences is a must-experience. Here, you'll appreciate the stunning exteriors of the principal structures within this remarkable cultural hub in Valencia, situated on the former riverbed of the Turia.
Tour Overview
We will convene at the designated time at the entrance of the CaixaForum Valencia, located in the L'Agora, marking the beginning of our complimentary journey through the City of Arts and Sciences. Are you prepared to explore one of Valencia's signature landmarks?
As we proceed along our path, we will observe the key areas of this architectural marvel, crafted by the distinguished architects Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela. Our first stop will be the Umbracle garden followed by a crossing of the Puente de l'Assut de l'Or bridge.
This bridge links two of the complex’s most avant-garde structures: the Ágora, which accommodates the CaixaForum Valencia museum, and the Oceanogràfic, recognized as the largest aquarium on the European continent.
Continuing our exploration, we will visit the lobby of the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum, where the architectural design is inspired by the skeleton of a dinosaur. Fascinating, isn’t it?
Next, we will take in the unique, eye-like design of the Hemisfèric, home to a 3D IMAX theater. Our tour will then take us to the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, which serves as the opera house for the city of Valencia.
We will wrap up our two-hour exploration at the Rosaleda Garden, where you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the City of Arts and Sciences.
