We will gather at the designated time at the Puerta de Purchena, situated in the bustling heart of the city. Here, attendees will have the chance to observe the external structures that served as shelters during the Spanish Civil War, a pivotal moment in Almería's history during the 1930s.
Our exploration will continue through the city center, where we will visit various notable sites, including the intriguing Calle de Los Duendes. Have you ever pondered the origins of this unusual name? We will also make a stop at the Plaza de la Virgen del Mar. Throughout the tour, we will share the peculiar events from the 16th century that elevated this virgin to the status of patron saint of Almería.
Located nearby, the legendary Cervantes Theatre awaits. In front of its distinguished façade, we will recount the tale of a chilling murder that had a lasting impact on the city. Some locals even whisper about glimpsing the ghost of the victim lingering in the area by night...
This intriguing journey will conclude in the Paseo de las Estrellas area.

On the day of the activity, you'll have to go to the meeting point located in Puerta Purchena, next to the statue of Nicolás Salmerón. We recommend you to be there 10 minutes before the tour starts.
It isn't necessary to print the voucher, you just have to show it in your mobile phone.

We also recommend that you wear comfortable shoes and carry a bottle of water for the tour, especially in the summer months.
The guide will be dressed in a coat or a fuchsia pink polo shirt with the 'Cláritas Turismo' logo on the back.
