Chateau Clos Lucé Ticket
Descripción
Leonardo da Vinci stands out as one of the most intriguing figures of the Renaissance era, with the castle where he spent his final years concealing fascinating stories and myths. Explore these wonders yourself with a ticket to the stunning Chateau Clos Lucé.
Clos Lucé Castle
Nestled in the picturesque Loire Valley, Clos Lucé ranks among the most renowned residences in France. This historic mansion served as the final abode for the polymath Leonardo da Vinci during the last three years of his life. Prior to this, it welcomed nobility like Francis I and Marguerite de Navarre, making it a site steeped in history!
The castle serves as a homage to da Vinci's legacy. In its basement, visitors can discover a variety of invention sketches conceived by the artist as early as 1450—centuries before these concepts were realized, including designs for a tank, a siege bridge, and a helicopter.
Wandering the gardens that envelop the estate, you'll encounter models of these pioneering inventions, showcasing incredible engineering marvels!
A visit to Clos Lucé Chateau is indispensable when exploring Amboise. Additionally, it is located just a short walk of less than half a mile from the renowned château of the city, both connected by a remarkable underground passageway.
As you traverse the various rooms of Clos Lucé, the atmosphere invites you to envision the artistic life of da Vinci within these walls. Upon his passing at the age of 67, the main chamber retained his iconic creation: the Mona Lisa.
New Immersive Space
Enhancing the experience, the first floor of the castle features an immersive exhibition that collects 17 of Leonardo da Vinci's masterpieces into one cohesive environment. This display reveals the intricacies of the painting process, from preliminary sketches to the completed artwork. As the exhibit unfolds, visitors gain a unique perspective and a deeper understanding of da Vinci's artistic journey, allowing them to appreciate his full pictorial heritage at once.
This new area comprises 500 m² of dedicated galleries showcasing da Vinci's work, featuring models, 3D animations, and interactive experiences designed to engage audiences of all ages in the Renaissance master’s creative process.
