Rich coffee traditions, lush scenery, and a wealth of historical significance await you on this guided walking excursion through Armenia, often regarded as one of Colombia's most genuine cities.

Tour Overview

We will convene at the planned time at the Parish of the Holy Spirit. Following a succinct introduction, our walking excursion in Armenia, the capital of the Quindio department, will begin.

Our first stop will be the nearby park, Los Fundadores, an emblematic site in the city where the remains of Jesús María Ocampo, the city's founder, and his wife, María Arsenia Cardona, are interred.

Continuing our journey, we will make our way to Sucre Park, established in homage to Marshal Antonio José de Sucre, a pivotal figure in Colombia’s independence. Within this verdant area, we will also discover the city's oldest tree, a silent witness to years of local history.

Next, we'll proceed towards the Open Skies Mall, which features a pedestrian pathway lined with various local shops. Here, you'll have the opportunity to refresh with a cup of coffee, chocolate, or fresh juice, depending on your preference.

After our break, we will cross the road to admire the Arriero monument, a bronze artwork portraying a farmer with his mule. This statue commemorates the essential role of muleteers in colonial times, especially in regions lacking transportation routes for goods.

Our stroll through the picturesque streets of Armenia will lead us to the impressive Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, where we will conclude our tour after a delightful 3-hour exploration.
