Explore This Historic Site
Your access to the Acropolis will lead you to what is known as the 'Highest Point'. Situated at an elevation of 156 metres (511 feet) above sea level, this site not only served as a vital defense location but also as a principal area of worship in ancient Athens. You will have the freedom to stroll through and admire some of Greece's most iconic temples at your own pace.
During your exploration, a mobile application will provide you with an audioguide, enhancing your understanding of this remarkable site. For instance, did you know that the Theatre of Dionysus was among the earliest theatres worldwide? Are you familiar with the earliest Greek deities? What significance does the Erectheion’s location hold? When was the Parthenon constructed?
Engage with the daily lives of ancient Athenians and the illustrious figures of that era as you navigate through one of the most frequented attractions in Athens. This visit promises to be an unforgettable experience at one of the planet's renowned World Heritage Sites.
The Schedule for the Acropolis Museum

The Acropolis Museum
To gain a deeper insight into the region's rich history, don’t miss the chance to explore the Acropolis Museum. This space showcases an array of original artifacts from Ancient Greece, including sculptures and items retrieved from the Acropolis itself.
For instance, you will encounter the Caryatids, the female columns from the Erectheion, now preserved here. The replicas displayed on the Acropolis are not the originals, which are now safely housed in the museum. The same is true for the decorative elements of the Parthenon. Rely on your audioguide to gather further information about the various exhibits on display.
